The following schedule of fees applies from 1 January, 2010. These are exclusive of GST. No other fees or levies are payable.

Tax invoices for Ethics Committee review fees will be sent by The Alfred directly to sponsors/public health bodies etc. following submission of applications.

Cheques should be sent to The Alfred, PO Box 315, Prahran, Victoria, 3181, with accompanying documentation quoting the invoice number.

Applications submitted under NEAF National or CAF Process

1)   Commercially funded and initiated studies

eg. pharmaceutical companies

$5,500

2)   Commercially funded and initiated extension studies

eg. open-label study following a randomised study previously approved by the Alfred Ethics Committee

$3,000

3)   Investigator initiated, company funded studies

Support or grants from pharmaceutical or device companies

$3,000

4)   Not-for-profit externally initiated studies (excluding universities)

eg. public health bodies, study groups and non-Alfred affiliated researchers

5)   External non-affiliated university department applications

Staff and students having no affiliation with The Alfred

6)   Affiliated institutions

Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute, Burnet Institute, Monash Medical School, Deakin and La Trobe Schools of Nursing

7)   Studies initiated by Alfred staff with no commercial funding
